Last week
(April 20th-27th) I spent with my confirmation class in Poland. We were 15
teens, our pastor and 2 adults. We spent the first 2 days in Breslau, where we
visited a 2 hours service in an Orthodox Church and the old city.
Then, we travelled by train to Cracow, where we stayed in a hostel. We went through the jewish part of the town. The following day, we visited Birkenau in Auschwitz. That was a very deep going experience for all of us.
In Wieliczka, we also saw a little part of the very big and famous salt mine. In the afternoon, we enjoyed the beautiful sites of the town. With the night train, we travelled to Prague, where we spent the last day before we headed off back to Switzerland.
We arrived back home very tired but full of impressions.

Now, I’m
getting prepared for the trip to the USA. I’m full of joy and anticipation! I’m
looking forward to getting to know my host family, the school and the town with
its surrounding.
With
blessings, Salome
