Last week (April 20th-27th) I spent with my confirmation class in Poland. We were 15 teens, our pastor and 2 adults. We spent the first 2 days in Breslau, where we visited a 2 hours service in an Orthodox Church and the old city.
Then, we travelled by train to Cracow, where we stayed in a hostel. We went through the jewish part of the town. The following day, we visited Birkenau in Auschwitz. That was a very deep going experience for all of us.
In Wieliczka, we also saw a little part of the very big and famous salt mine. In the afternoon, we enjoyed the beautiful sites of the town. With the night train, we travelled to Prague, where we spent the last day before we headed off back to Switzerland.
We arrived back home very tired but full of impressions.

Now, I’m getting prepared for the trip to the USA. I’m full of joy and anticipation! I’m looking forward to getting to know my host family, the school and the town with its surrounding.

With blessings, Salome

Anticipation for the USA trip

Hello everybody. Are you as excited about our tripas I am?
It is very hard to wait until the day we will fly over the big sea.
I am also very exited to meet my hostfamily, but i think that will be great.
And what i do is, i write all things i want to buy on a paper. I hope we can buy many many things for example clothes or sunglasses or shoes. I pack not many things, because my suitcase must be possible empty.

Greetings Manuel

I'm so excited to go to America for an exchange and to learn more English and more about the culture of America.
I hope I'm going to have a good time with my host family and that it will be a good trip for our class.
